Forest School
Forest School is a long-term outdoor education process that is holistic and child-led. It aims to promote resilience, confidence, independence and creativity through risk, problem-solving and self-discovery.
At CRJS our provision is long-term that wholeheartedly supports the school curriculum, embedding classroom learning theories via hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
In addition to this, we also run an after-school club (fee applies) which expands on this provision further.
CRJS is an FSA recognised provider. We are lucky to have 3 fully qualified Forest School Leaders, an assistant leader as well as teachers in training.
We have two Forest Schools within our school grounds and we are proud to be able to offer our provision for every single child for a minimum of 2 hours every fortnight, all the year round.
“There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing” ~ Alfred Wainwright
We require a full forest school kit to be in school as a part of their expected school uniform. We recommend that the Forest School kit remains in school, only replenishing those items as and when appropriate.
Your child’s forest school kit must include:
· Long sleeved top (all weather)
· Long trousers (all weather)
· Long socks
· Trainers (summer)
· Wellies (winter)
· Waterproof trousers
· Waterproof coat
· Water bottle
· Hat (bobble or baseball)
· Gloves
