As a part of our Telling Tales topic in Year 3, we have begun to learn about the history of the school. This week, we have explored the school grounds searching for evidence of the Graitney estate and handled artefacts from the manor house.

In the manor house, the sun room (approximately where the school hall is now) faced towards the croquet lawn. We enjoyed finding out about some of the plants that Vice-Admiral Johnstone brought back from his travels to plant in the grounds.

We were fascinated to see some of the original structures from when the school was a manor house.

We handled the artefacts carefully and thought about what they might have been used for.
