Year 5 have been immersed in our Rivers topic so far this half-term.  We have tracked the journey of The River Thames on maps from its source to the sea and have moved onto researching its uses. In our reading lessons, we have been reading 'Journey to the River Sea' where our main character, Maia, has arrived in the Amazon rainforest and is now venturing up The Amazon River.

In our art lessons we have been drawing fish from British rivers and streams using the continuous line method. We have brought them to life with a splash of watercolour.

Our water theme continues as we have our first swimming lesson this week at Place Leisure Centre.

Excitedly, next week we have our first trip for what feels like a long time, to Woking Mosque to delve deeper into Islam.
